Hitting in MLB The Show 26 gets harder when you try to cover every pitch with one frantic thumb movement. Give yourself a smaller job. Pick an area before the delivery, keep the Plate Coverage Indicator close to it, and look for something you can drive. If you're building your lineup with MLB 26 stubs, that same patience matters once your hitters reach the plate. A stronger roster helps, but it won't fix rushed decisions. Start by cutting down how far you move the PCI on each pitch.

Start where the fastball hurts you

If high fastballs keep beating you, try holding the PCI slightly above the middle before the pitcher starts their motion. The upper corner on the throwing arm side is one starting point, though it won't suit every matchup. You're giving your thumb less ground to cover against a pitch that arrives quickly. For some players, easing the stick downward also feels steadier than pushing it up at the last second. Keep that starting position comfortable. If you're holding the stick so firmly that every adjustment overshoots, bring it closer to center.

Watch the hand and let the ball lead

Once you've chosen your starting spot, put your attention on the release point. It's tempting to stare at the PCI and check whether it's lined up. That costs you a useful look at the ball. Watch it leave the pitcher's hand, then make a small adjustment as its path becomes clearer. You won't identify every pitch immediately, and that's fine. Look for clues in its speed and early direction instead of guessing from one detail. The goal is to stop making a huge correction just before you swing.

Make the pitcher earn your swing

A preset PCI position should help you choose pitches, too. Early in the count, wait for something near the area you're covering. A strike on the opposite edge doesn't always deserve a swing. With two strikes, you'll need to protect more of the zone, but that doesn't mean chasing everything moving toward the dirt. Between pitches, give yourself a quick reset. These reminders can keep a poor swing from carrying into the next delivery.

Relax your thumb before resetting the PCI.
Choose a target area for the next pitch.
Check the count before deciding how selective to be.

Adjust when the pattern changes

Pay attention to what the pitcher actually throws. If low breaking pitches keep appearing, move your starting spot a little lower or wait for one to stay up. Don't keep forcing a high setup just because it worked earlier. Players looking at MLB 26 stubs for sale may have roster upgrades in mind, but practice gives those hitters a better chance to produce. Work on one weakness at a time. Track whether you're arriving late, moving too far, or swinging at poor pitches, then make the next adjustment small enough to control.

Make room for better at bats in MLB The Show 26. Start your PCI high, follow the ball, and let tough pitches go. For your next lineup move, explore MLB 26 stubs at U4GM and see what suits your plans. You've got a team to build and pitches to square up. Keep it simple, stay patient, and enjoy every inning you play.
